This was me during the great
tsunami of 1934. Don't mistake that look on my face for a smile,
it's actually an expression of despair and fear. Notice also
that I was one of the first pioneers of color photography back
then. Pretty good quality for the age.
I know what you're thinking; Phil,
you haven't aged much at all since 1934! But how did you survive
that tsunami? Great question. Sadly the photographer of
this shot didn't make it, but as this great beast of a wave came
upon me I remembered my old boy scout training. After I crafted
a small wooden race car, however, I realized that it would do me
no good.
I can't seem to remember the end,
but I'm sure it was a story of cunning survival and inspiration.
At any rate, here I am today (lucky for you all!)
Blah blah blah, I was born here,
moved here, went to school here, etc etc. Here are a few quick
bullet points of information that may help you with your book
report:
- Born in
Silver Spring, MD
- Grew up
in Raleigh, NC
- Elon
University for College (Broadcast Communications major)
- After
college I explored careers at: Discovery Channel, Home and
Garden TV, Comcast SportsNet TV
- Locations:
As of now I'm getting to know Charleston, SC. The beach is
nearby. Which is good.
- Currently:
I've taken a leap of faith and have started a video production
company with a good friend from college. So technically I'm
co-president of the company, but let me be the first to tell you
that titles alone don't pay the bills.
- Someday:
I'd love to take our production company and create documentary
films. That's the dream right now. I always said I wanted to
work in a field where I actually felt like I was making a
difference, even if in the slightest way. Maybe I can change the
world this way?
- Sports:
Yeah, I'm a sports fan. If there's a game on, I'm probably
watching it. If there's someone to talk sports with, I'm
probably talking.
- I go Rah
Rah for: The Carolina Hurricanes (that's hockey folks),
Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals,
University of Maryland athletics, and any compelling sports
storyline.
- The Fam:
It's a big one, and I love that. There's a mother and a father
(both outstanding) and three younger brothers who are scattered
around the country in college and high school.
Ok, enough for now. I expect
you'll learn much more about things through my writing. But if
not, you can shoot my writing staff an email and we'll get you
an answer. And by 'writing staff' I mean me. And by 'answer'
I mean...well, I probably still mean answer.
Thanks for visiting!
